doubletree cookies might be better than my cookies...

so yesterday i began my trek across the nation flying from columbia to atlanta to seattle. i met some of my colleagues(?) that are on the flight with me to beijing. we boarded the international plane and of course had some mechanical difficulties. something about having two radios because we are flying over russia and their radios are different than ours blah blah blah... they tried to fix it but couldn't so after we sat on the plane for two or three hours, they canceled the flight.

i haven't done this whole canceled flight thing by myself before, so it was quite the adventure! this was all occurring around midnight pacific time which is 3am eastern time. all i wanted to do was shower and get in bed! waited in line for the hotel and meal vouchers then waited for luggage then waited to get on the hotel shuttle then waited in line to check in (all with around 200 other people). the hotel is really nice and they hand you a warm cookie when you check in. SCORE! we were all hungry. this hotel is like a maze. i had to go up one elevator, over the bridge, and down another elevator just to get to the hall my room is on. then i must have been really tired because i couldn't even figure out how to turn the shower on (you pull). after all that i fell asleep to sports center and it was a good night.

i woke up this morning and had an awesome breakfast and QT back in the lobby. i'm about to take a shuttle to the airport and (hopefully) board a functional plane going to beijing. all in all i'm learning more about God's faithfulness and sovereignty. he is so much bigger than me and my plans.
